Training in Sport Sword® begins with learning simple footwork, strikes and blocks ( guards ) with the sword.  From there, the rest of the training begins.  Students are led through exercises and drills, that have the look and feel of a game, are fun, and educational.

Sport Sword classes are a great way to get in shape, and burn off those excess calories.  Swordfighting can burn 600 calories per hour!  That's a great alternative to an aerobics class or tennis match.  Training in Sport Sword is a great way to cross-train for any sport.  Sport Sword® not only challenges your body, but it also challenges your mind.
Some games are short and simple, while others are designed to be complex, multi-class activities that are limitless games of strategy. Points are awarded for good attendance, leadership, teamwork and creative problem solving.

At Mentor Sport Sword®, saftey is the number one concern.  In addition to using a "safe" weapon, students are also instructed in general classroom etiquette that will ensure that the class is safe for all involved, especally those that are excited and anticipate fun sword games.
